Morality Earthquake

This is not the first time Turkey has experienced an earthquake. It did not face earthquakes of the magnitude it experienced on February 6, 2023 for the first time in 1999. The problem is that a country living on fault lines cannot take precautions against natural disasters. The problem is the underdevelopment of society's perspective on life. The problem is the politics that facilitate this underdevelopment. The problem is the society that allows this politics to exist.
As I write this, the number of people who have died is approaching 10,000. Those who are trapped under the collapsed buildings and waiting for help are silenced after a few hours. From freezing and blood loss.
Is it possible to talk about politics in this environment? Is it possible to talk about morality in this environment? Is it possible to talk about conscience in this environment?
If the cause of the destruction caused by this earthquake is morality, conscience and politics, then it is time to talk about morality, conscience and politics.
We have been writing for years, with weariness, boredom and hopelessness. We write for everyone from party A to party Z. Regardless of party, the problematic thing is the way the country's culture does politics. Politics is very important. Politics is the institution that solves social problems. Politics is the place where the aim of being beneficial to society is pursued.
We explain concepts such as economy, politics, education, law, institutions, social morality. All of them are abstract, all of them seem empty and meaningless to society. Maybe this article will fall into the status of “empty and unnecessary” like the other articles in a few weeks.
Turkey sees politics as a mechanism for creating profit. Politicians gain their own power through the profit they create for the people around them. This mechanism creates people and companies that cluster around politics. Is there anyone in this society who hasn’t heard things like “Our cousin became the mayor of district A, we will take care of your business”? Those are the things that have been taken care of that are causing the deaths of thousands of people today. The tenders you have won by violating the rights of others and the ones who distribute those tenders to you with all kinds of unlawfulness are the reason for thousands of deaths.
Hasn't this country seen those who confessed to selling sea sand and rotten iron? Where institutions are gone and law is nonexistent, there can be no supervision or control. Are consciences clear now?
People who know geology have been warning for years. They talk about the probability and intensity of earthquakes in different places. You have considered it a feat to open universities everywhere. You have not listened to those who know their job well, and you have caused thousands of unqualified people to enter life. Those people cannot organize now. They do not have the knowledge, and there are no institutions left. You do not have precautions. People are dying because you do not have precautions.
You have divided the country with your discrimination. Yes, it is high time to talk about politics and morality. The reason for the results of this earthquake is in politics and morality. It is high time to talk about politics and morality, but it is not the time to make a political show. Especially accepting and not accepting aid by saying “us and them” is nothing more than trying to gain votes from that wreckage. You will say, “We also healed the wounds of this earthquake, which was God’s will.”
There is virtue in reporting news and enlightening people with information. True news is the honor and rank of journalists and the press. Is your conscience clear, media?

A society that does not question, does not seek its rights, does not question where the taxes it pays go! Do you remember the saying, “They steal but they do business”? Who has been saying this for years? Being principled, consistent, and backed up is very, very important in life.
Corruption of politics, collapse of morality! Right now, people are under the rubble not of buildings, but of collapsed morality and politics.
I am writing this article knowing full well how empty and meaningless my writings will soon become.
